‘Exit of A Titan,’ He Will Be Sorely Missed—Senator Yunus Akintunde Pays Tribute to Alhaji Lasisi Ayankojo

Senator Yunus Akintunde has described the death of Alhaji Lasisi Ayanyinka Ayankojo as a great loss whose vacuum will be difficult to fill.
In his message of condolences made available to the public through Kunle Olatunji, his special assistant on media and publicity, Akintunde paid tributes to the late politician while he described him as a tenacious and dependable leader with impeccable character who will be sorely missed.
“I received the news of Baba Ayankojo’s demise with a rude shock, and I heartily send my sincere condolences to the entire—immediate and extended—family of Ayankojo, the people of Oyo town, the good people of Oyo State, and the progressive family at large on this incidence of Papa’s passage, though at a fairly old age.”.
“However sad, though, as a personal loss, Baba contributed immensely to my political engagements and progress. Indeed, he is a father figure to me, and I must sincerely appreciate his unique style of leadership as a very gentle, dependable, committed, honest, and reliable leader who demonstrated unequalled and impeccable character quite worthy of emulation.
“With his passage, we have lost another of the few remaining disciples of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late sage, and also a close associate of Chief Bola Ige. Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilaehi Rojihuun.
“Baba Ayankojo’s legacies of excellent leadership and commitment as a strong pillar while contributing to the growth of progressives in Nigerian politics will be remembered and celebrated with nostalgic reflections.
“May the Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Fridaus eternal rest and grant the rest of us the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.” Akintunde submitted.
