Senator Akintunde Congratulates Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Dr Ibrahim Olaifa, Others on SWDC’s Appointments
Senator Yunus Akintunde has extended felicitations on the appointments of Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle as Executive Director Commercial and Environmental Development Department and Dr Ibrahim Olaifa, Member of the Board of the newly created South West Development Commission, among other appointments announced recently by the Presidency.
In a release made available to the media through Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Yunus Akintunde, the lawmaker described the various appointees as capable and qualified for the positions for which they have been nominated.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently secured provisional mandatory National Assembly approval for the establishment of six zonal development commissions across the various zones of the federation to fast-track rapid development of the country. The South West Development Commission is one of those commissions, with the proposed headquarters located in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi has been nominated as the Chairman of the commission alongside Dr Charles Akinola as the Managing Director, while Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle will take charge as the Executive Director Commercial and Environmental Development department of the Commission. Olaifa also joins members from other states of the South West on the Board of the Commission.
