Birthday: You Are a Shining Light, Role Model for Younger Generations—Senator Yunus Akintunde Felicitates Dr Zacch Adedeji
The senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has described Dr. Zacchaeus Adedeji Adelabu, the executive chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS, as a unique personality, an exceptional talent, and a shining light for Nigeria in leadership.
In a release made available to the media through Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Akintunde, the lawmaker expressed his joy while joining others in celebrating Adedeji on his 47th birthday this year.
The congratulatory message reads in part,“You are a shining light and a great inspiration for several upcoming leaders and the much younger generation looking up to you as a reference towards achieving uncommon greatness.
“Your benevolent nature, quiet disposition, strong character, and humility in greatness have endeared you to several people, and I am proud of your achievements quite early in life.
“No doubt, your sterling capacity, brilliance, and extraordinary intelligence influenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s choice in your present capacity as the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services, FIRS, and I’m glad you have proven your mettle as just the right man for the task.
“Your commitment and selfless contributions to the national interest and economic repositioning of our dear country through the renewed hope agenda led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at this critical period through brilliant financial blueprints, the most recent in the tax reforms, have placed you on an unequalled pedestal, and I personally congratulate you.

A thoroughbred professional accountant, Adedeji holds a doctorate degree in public finance and administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University, where he had earlier completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting with a first class during his first degree.
Dr. Zacch Adedeji served as commissioner for finance during the first tenure of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi in Oyo State in 2015. He has been consulting for several organisations in the private and public sectors and was later appointed by the previous administration of President Muhammad Buhari as Chairman of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. Later he was appointed as executive secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, from where he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as one of the special advisers in the early days of this administration.
Presently, Zacch Adedeji heads the Federal Inland Revenue Services as the executive chairman, the organisation responsible for revenue generation and tax administration in Nigeria currently going through various reforms under his watch.
