The 7th Annual Abiola Ajimobi Roundtable and 75th Posthumous Birthday Lecture drew a diverse gathering of distinguished Nigerians, including politicians, academics, and family members of the late governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo-State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The event, held at the University of Ibadan’s Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies, explored the theme “Legislative Oversight and Accountability in Nigeria: Challenges & Prospects.”.
Renowned scholars, policymakers, and international speakers converged to discuss the critical role of legislative institutions in promoting transparency, good governance, and democratic accountability. The discussions emphasised practical strategies for overcoming Nigeria’s legislative challenges, highlighting the importance of collaboration, capacity building, and citizen engagement.

Notable attendees included the National Chairman of APC, Abdulahi Ganduje, Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma and Deputy Senate President of the National Assembly, Barau Jibrin.
The event served as a testament to the enduring legacy of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi and his commitment to promoting good governance and democratic accountability in Nigeria.
In her appreciation message, the matriarch of the Abiola Ajimobi family and president of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation, Chief (Dr.) Florence Ajimobi, on behalf of the family and political associates of the late patriarch, thanked all the dignitaries who graced the occasion. She also lauded all the admirers of the late governor of the state who contributed to the success of the programme and made it a historic event.
